Quick Tip: The Ten Minute Cleanup

Ten minutes isn’t a long span of time, yet it can have a large impact on your day. You can use it to endlessly scroll through feeds, walk to get coffee, or mediate. Since working from home, I find that I can use ten minutes to productively kick off my day or loose myself in endless feeds. How I use that small span of time does  effect my concentration and productivity throughout the day. If you find yourself paralyzed by clutter and disorganization, I recommend taking this small amount of time each day to take care of yourself.

Here are some of my best ways to use ten minutes!

1. Your home

Nothing makes me feel more unproductive then a messy living-room or kitchen sink. I stare at it throughout day debating with myself when I should clean it. This is taking me away from client work and developing projects. Your home won't be perfect in ten minutes, but it's enough time to make a difference and feel like a part of society.

2. Your Desktop files

My goodness have I come close to loosing all sight of my desktop wallpaper! Set a timer and delete, delete, file, file, file! You'll feel a weight off your shoulders and it will be much faster to navigate to your projects.

3. Yourself

As tempting as it is to wear the same ensemble from morning to night and maybe the next morning. Get dressed with those ten minutes. Whatever lands on your face and your body, you did it! You are a better YOU now. You are ready to hit your day a little fresher and awake.

I hope you enjoyed these quick tips!
